Cabin Critters Rescue

Cabin Critters Rescue is a registered 501(3)(c) non-profit in Scioto County, Ohio, that is focused on animal rescue and education. Started in February of 2019, we have rescued over 400 dogs and cats (plus some other types). Our primary focus is to find loving homes for our furry friends where they will thrive and be loved for the rest of their lives.

Our mission is to:

To rescue animals from situations that are abusive, endangering or neglectful.
To assist owners willing to keep their dogs, by finding new homes for their dogs through the Corporation’s Owner Surrender Program, as an alternate to placing their dog in a public shelter or animal control facility.
To provide homes for these animals.
To place rescued animals into forever homes.
To educate and promote the importance of spaying/neutering companion animals.
To educate the public on how to help prevent animal cruelty.
To take the lead on educating and providing awareness in the community about responsible animal ownership and to instill that every animal has value.
To promote responsible caring attitudes toward animals and to strive to protect.

We just celebrated our three year anniversary!

Next goal: New roof

Cabin Critters Rescue has been able to purchase property and has started on building up a real shelter in order to help the community and save even more animals in the future. We feel very blessed to be able to take such a huge step which will actually save a lot of money on boarding fees and allow us to have a brick-and-mortar location.

Our next goal now is to start fundraising for a new roof for our new-to-us shelter! The current state of our roof has left us with lots of leaks and issues that need to be taken care as soon as we can. We have been able to expand the roof over our outdoor kennels, but the main roof really needs replaced.

Special Adoption Event

JUNE 25, 2022 AT 9 AM

Cabin Critters Rescue is teaming up with Main Street Portsmouth at their Farmer's Market on June 25th, 2022 for a special adoption event. MSP is donating $50 towards 3 adoptions to be taken place upon approval. To be pre-approved for this adoption event, applicants must apply here on our website (application found under Adoptions).
